Dennis L Martire – Helping Improve Working Conditions

Dennis L Martire is the Vice President of the Laborers’ Mid Atlantic Region of LiUNA (Laborers’ International Union of North America) and has, with the support of the rest of the LiUNA team, helped to give laborers and construction workers from around the region a collective voice. This collective voice has, in turn, granted members with improved pay, access to greater benefits, continued education, and improved working and health and safety conditions. Members can enjoy up to 60% more wages than non members and greater equality is afforded to both sexes and all ethnic groups.

Health and safety is also an important aspect in the labor industry and one that Dennis L Martire has been especially proactive in. Many sights and construction companies are ill equipped to deal with health and safety issues and some have little experience or knowledge of how to provide the best possible conditions for their employees. Through education and information, LiUNA can equip each and every one of these businesses as well as the individuals that work for them with the latest and most beneficial health and safety techniques.

LiUNA also offers access to ongoing and continued education for all of its members. 8 training centers and 2 mobile training centers are staffed by more than 20 qualified and skilled trainers and offer more than 50 courses in relevant and beneficial subject areas. This education and the resulting qualifications has already helped many LiUNA members to benefit from greater job prospects and improved pay.
